For couples weighing cost against travel time, this is the clearest answer in the category. Nassau is roughly an hour and ten minutes from Miami, the transfer from the airport is about twenty minutes, and rates run meaningfully below the Sandals flagships in Jamaica and St. Lucia for exactly the same inclusion set.

The private offshore island is what elevates it beyond a value pick. A free resort boat takes guests to a cay with two beaches, a lagoon-style pool, a Zen garden, a second spa and a seafood restaurant, with some of the better snorkelling near Nassau off its shore. The ability to change islands mid-week without planning or cost is the single best thing about staying here.

It is not remote — Cable Beach is a busy stretch minutes from a working capital — and Bahamian winter water is cooler than the southern Caribbean. The room stock also spans several eras, so booking a specific renovated wing matters more here than the brand name suggests.

Sandals Royal Caribbean combines the two features couples most want from an adults-only resort — overwater accommodation and a private island — with the shortest transfer in Jamaica at roughly twenty minutes from Sangster International. For a five-night trip where losing half a day to a road transfer would matter, that combination is hard to beat.

The over-the-water bungalows are among very few in the Caribbean, and the offshore island gives the property a second, quieter beach with its own dining. The Sandals inclusion set applies in full, and Jamaica's competitive resort market keeps the standard honest.

The property is not new and the entry-level rooms show it more than the butler categories do. As at the brand's other resorts, the ladder is steep in quality terms and relatively shallow in price terms — book up if you can.

Jade Mountain is the outlier on this list and belongs here anyway. It is adults-oriented rather than strictly couples-only, and it operates on a room rate with optional meal plans rather than a true all-inclusive model — but no adults-only resort in the region offers a room remotely like it.

Each of the 24 sanctuaries has an open fourth wall — no glass, no screen — and a private infinity pool positioned so the waterline meets the Pitons without interruption. Guests also have full access to sister resort Anse Chastanet below, including its beaches, restaurants and the island's best shore diving. For a milestone anniversary or a honeymoon where the room is the point, nothing competes.

The caveats are substantial and worth reading twice: no air conditioning in the living space, insects and weather that come in with the view, steep hillside access throughout, no beach at the resort itself, and no inclusive rate at a price where competitors bundle everything. Excellence Playa Mujeres is the natural choice for adults travelling in threes, fours or alone, because it operates an age minimum rather than a couples-only rule. That single policy difference opens it to friend groups, milestone birthdays and solo travelers that Sandals cannot take.

The Excellence Collection's model is unusually generous: all-suite accommodation, every restaurant included with no cover charges, premium spirits, 24-hour room service, and swim-up and rooftop-terrace suite categories that appear well down the ladder rather than only at the top. The Playa Mujeres location north of Cancún is quieter than the Hotel Zone while keeping the airport within about 40 minutes.

We have not published a full scored review, so this is an honest editorial mention. Weigh the scale — it is a large property — and the fact that the beach here, while good, is not the equal of Grace Bay or the best Riviera Maya sand.

Le Blanc is the top of the adults-only tree in Mexico on presentation and service, and the Los Cabos property matters specifically because it sits outside the Atlantic hurricane basin — which means September and October, the riskiest months for Caribbean travel, remain viable here.

The proposition is a genuinely luxury all-inclusive with a butler-tier service model, an unusually strong spa programme, and inclusions that extend further than most of the category — premium spirits, all dining, and a level of finish closer to a city hotel than a beach resort. For US West Coast travelers, the flight advantage over the Caribbean is several hours.

The honest caveat for Los Cabos generally is swimming: this is a dramatic desert coastline where many beaches are not safe to swim from, and the resort pools do more work than they would in the Caribbean.
